That matters for anyone comparing the two, because the bundle is only worth the difference if the surface cleaner is a tool you would otherwise buy. If your work is cars, patio furniture and fencing, it is not. If you have a driveway, a patio slab or a garage floor, it very much is, because a shrouded cleaner is the difference between an even finish and the overlapping wand arcs that stay visible for months.
The machine: what Westinghouse publishes and how it qualifies it
Westinghouse states 2300 maximum PSI and up to 1.76 maximum GPM, and this listing qualifies both figures more precisely than most. The pressure is stated as being at initial discharge per CSA internal pressure testing, and the flow as being without a nozzle at minimum pressure. Naming the test basis for the pressure figure is a detail the standalone listing does not include, and it is worth crediting. It also confirms what the qualifier implies: the two numbers are measured under opposite conditions and are not both available at the same moment. The working pressure in ordinary use will be lower, and it is not published.
The chassis is the reason to want this machine. Westinghouse quotes 16.5 inches tall and 19 pounds, with four quick lock wheels, 360 degree steering and a deliberately low center of gravity the company calls anti tipping technology. Flow is the part to think about. A surface cleaner is turned by the reaction of its own jets, and below a certain flow the bar spins slowly or stalls, which produces exactly the streaking the tool was bought to prevent. Westinghouse publishes no minimum GPM for this attachment anywhere, and the machine’s 1.76 GPM is toward the lower end of what 12 inch cleaners typically want. Competing 14 inch cleaners in this catalog publish a minimum around 1.8 GPM. Expect the pairing to work rather than to fly, and expect slower walking speed than a higher flow machine would allow.
Using it correctly
On the machine, the five tips are the control surface. The zero degree tip concentrates the entire flow into a point and is the one most likely to cut wood, strip paint, etch concrete or injure someone. The 15 and 25 degree tips are the sensible defaults for siding, decking, vehicles and furniture. The turbo tip rotates a narrow jet in a cone for hard surfaces, and the soap applicator drops pressure so detergent can be laid down before rinsing.
On the surface cleaner, set it flat on the surface before pulling the trigger and keep it flat throughout. The shroud is the only thing containing the spinning jets, and a housing tipped onto its edge under pressure sends a jet sideways at full force. Never lift it to look underneath while the trigger is engaged. Move at a steady walking pace with about a quarter of the disc overlapping the previous pass, and plan on wand work around the perimeter, because a round housing cannot reach into a corner.
A pressure washer jet can force water and surface contaminants through skin, and an injection injury needs immediate medical attention even when the entry wound looks small. Never aim the wand at a person or an animal, never test the spray against your hand, and wear eye protection because grit blasted off a surface returns toward the operator. On exterior walls angle the spray downward and keep working distance, since water forced up behind siding does not drain out.
Limits, contradictions and gaps
Two specification fields import in scientific notation rather than as readable figures. The maximum pressure reads 2.3E+3 pounds per square inch, which is 2300, and the tank volume reads 6E+2 millilitres, which is 600. Both values are correct underneath the formatting, but neither is usable as printed.
The warranty is the more consequential ambiguity. This bundle listing states only a 180 day limited warranty, which is the term Westinghouse quotes on its surface cleaner attachments. The standalone machine listing states three year limited coverage for service, labor and parts. A bundle that lists only the shorter term leaves it unclear which coverage applies to the machine, and that should be confirmed with Westinghouse before buying.
The listing also repeats the compatibility contradiction found on the standalone attachment page: the description says the surface cleaner is compatible for use on most gas pressure washers, while a feature bullet says it is compatible with most gas and electric pressure washers.
The electrical specifications are absent entirely. No motor wattage, no amperage draw, no required circuit rating, no GFCI statement and no cord length appear anywhere, and extension cord restrictions are not addressed.
